Dorothy Ree Richardson

Dorothy "Dot" Gittings Richardson, 81, died Monday, May 12 at Monroe County Medical Center. Born July 12, 1932 in the Elbow community of Monroe County. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Benton and Annie Lee Geralds Gittings. She was a member of the Church of Christ and attended church at Cedar Grove Church of Christ and Elbow Bend Church of Christ. She was retired from Red Kap.

She is survived by one sister, Susan Stephens of Center; a brother, Rex ( June) Gittings of Tompkinsville;
4 nieces, Peggy Gittings of Tompkinsville, Susan Kay Stephens and Diana Smith of Center, and Connie Travis of Owensboro; one nephew, Bennie Stephens of Center; 1 great niece Angela (Jamie) Powell of Irmo, South Carolina; one great nephew, Justin D. Smith of Center; 1 great great niece and nephew, Kylie and Kellen Powell of Irmo, South Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Virgil "RV" Richardson, a nephew, Sammie Gittings, and a brother-in-law, Cornell Stephens.

Funeral services for Dorothy Richardson will be Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Yokley Trible Funeral Home with burial in the Monroe County Memorial Lawn. Visitation will be after 4:00 PM Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
