Tim Louis Cornwell, Sr., age 86, of Tompkinsville, KY, passed away at his home on April 6, 2024.
Tim was born in Monroe County, KY on January 30, 1938, a son of the late Bob and Jessie Marie (Carter) Cornwell.
He was a mechanic for Roy Anderson Lumber Co., Inc. for 30+ years. He was also an avid beekeeper and tending to his bees was one of his favorite past times. He was a member of the Oak Hill Church of Christ. Tim would do anything for anybody. You never heard him say a bad word about anyone. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. Above all he was a Christian man, very strong in his faith and beliefs.
He was married to the love of his life, Karen Cornwell for 65 years, who survives, of Tompkinsville, KY. He is also survived by three daughters, Terrie Gittings, Debbie Cornwell and Carol Depta all of Tompkinsville, four grandchildren, Robert Moore, Angel Comer, Kristina Cornwell and Rick Wohlleb and eight great grandchildren, Raegan Caldwell (husband Josh), Kaitlyn “Buttercup” Reagan, Brent Moore, Noah Page, Kayden Dodson, Addie Dodson, Paisley Simmons and Ryder Harper and one sister Vonda Dunagan, of Tompkinsville, KY.
A son, Tim Cornwell, Jr. , and two brothers, Ted and Roger Cornwell also preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 10, at 10:00 a.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Skaggs Creek Cemetery.
Visitation is Tuesday, 4-8 p.m. and Wednesday morning after 8:00 a.m. until service time at 10:00 a.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
