Vonda Starnes Obituary
Vonda (Ferguson) Starnes, 88, of Mt. Hermon, KY passed away Sunday, December 25, 2022 at her home.
Vonda was born in Monroe County, KY on May 21, 1934, a daughter of the late Floyd and Ada (Bowles) Ferguson.
On November 27, 1951 she married Roy Starnes. Roy preceded her in death on January 16, 2019.
Vonda was a member of East Mud Lick Church of Christ. She was known as "Mammy" to her grandchildren and their friends.
Vonda is survived by a son, Ronnie Starnes, of Tompkinsville, KY; a daughter and son-in-law, Gayle and Rick Meek of Glasgow, KY; and a daughter-in-law, Paula Starnes, of Tompkinsville, KY; 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and was expecting another one; and a brother, Marvin Ferguson, of Brownsburg, IN.
Other than her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Donnie Starnes.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 29, at 1:00 p.m., with burial to follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Visitation is Wednesday, December 28, 2-8 p.m., and Thursday, 8:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m., at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Vonda's memory may be made to Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
