Virginia Hume Deckard, 85, of Gamaliel, KY passed away Wednesday, September 30th, suddenly, at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN.
Virginia was born February 9, 1935, daughter of the late Honor Kathleen (Rasner) and William "Bill" Nelson Hume.
She married Reed Deckard April 20, 1973, he preceded her in death January 3, 2000.
She worked at Key Work Clothes in Tompkinsville before moving to Louisville, KY, where she lived for many years while working at DCE Industrial Equipment & Continental Air Filters. She was a member of the Rock Bridge Missionary Baptist Church.
Virginia is survived by daughter, Sue Page, of Tompkinsville, KY; son,James Bray, of Gallatin, TN; 7 grandchildren & 1 step-grandchild, Amy Hurt Creek, Angie Hurt Ford, Stacy Page Head, Kacie Hurt, Corey Page, Michael Bray, Joshua Bray & Armani Ferdiand & 10 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Muriel Grider, of Tompkinsville, KY; Naomi Guffey, of Tompkinsville, KY, two brothers, Rudolph Hume, of Tompkinsville, KY; Mark Hume, of Lexington, KY;
Other than her parents & husband, daughter, Jane Bray Hurt & brothers, Ishmael, Morris, Eugene & Benny preceded her in death.
Funeral Service will be held 2 PM on Sunday, October 4th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY with Brother Gary Emberton officiating.
Visitation will be held 5 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, October 3rd at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY & 10 AM to 2 PM on Sunday, October 4th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY.
Burial, Monroe County Memorial Lawn, Tompkinsville, KY.
