Shirley Ann Gordon, 79, of Tompkinsville, KY passed away Saturday, August 29th, at Medical Center of Bowling Green.
Shirley was born in Hartsville, TN, on February 27, 1941, a daughter of the late Ruby Mae (Duffer) and James Ewing Poole .
On February 9, 1957 she married Junior Gordon in Celina, TN.
Shirley was a Cook at Tompkinsville Elementary School for 36 years.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Junior Gordon; three daughters, Teresa Wilson, and husband, Mark, Rita Bryant, and husband, Dexter, and Tammy Oakley; a son, David "Dick" Gordon, and wife, Sheila, all of Tompkinsville, KY, 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
Shirley is also survived by two sisters, Ruby Gee, and husband, Mike, of Tompkinsville, KY, and Debbie Davis, and husband, Stacy, of Pleasant Shade, TN.
Other than her parents she is preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Sue Daniels, her brother, James "Peabody" Poole, three sisters, Linda Poole, Earline Graves, and Carolyn Bryant, and one great granddaughter, Autumn Brook York.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 1, at 1:00 P.M. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home. Visitation is Monday, 4-8 PM and Tuesday 6:00 A.M. until service time at 1:00 P.M.
Burial is in WIlson Basil Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to Wilson Basil Cemetery.
For the protection of Mrs. Gordon's family, it is kindly asked for anyone coming to the services to abide by Governor Beshear's recommendation of wearing a mask and practicing social distancing. No public lounge is available at this time due to COVID-19.
