Sammie Edward Scott

Sammie Edward Scott, 87, of Tompkinsville, KY, passed away Saturday, February 27th, at TJ Samson Community Hospital.

Sammie Edward was born in Tompkinsville, KY on January 19, 1934, a son of the late Juanita (Milby  and Joe Edd Scott.

He was a retired construction worker. He was also a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Sammie Edward is  survived by three brothers, Burney Joe Scott, of Zionsville, IN;  Ervin Eugene Scott, of St. George, Utah and Richard Dean Scott, of Indianapolis, IN. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by three sisters, Annie Lorene Scott Anderson, Elsie Scott Ferguson and Geneva Lilian Scott; and three brothers, William Leslie Scott, Warner Lee Scott and Earl Thomas Scott.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 2nd at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Visitation is Monday afternoon from 4:30-7:00 PM at Yokley Trible Funeral Home and again on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Burial is in Old Mt. Herman Cemetery.

For the protection of Mr. Scott's family it is kindly asked for anyone coming to the services to abide by Governor Beshear's recommendation of wearing a mask and practicing social distancing. Due to state mandates there is no public lounge available at this time.
