Ruenell (Netherton) Brady

Ruenell Brady, 83, of Tompkinsville, KY went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, January 16th. She passed peacefully in her home.

Ruenell or “Nell” as she was known to so many was born on February 6, 1941, a daughter of the late Joyce (Ford) Netherton Harlan and Villie Malbert Netherton.

Nell met the love of her life Donald Brady when she was just a young lady. The two married and had two children, a daughter, Robbie Madsen and a son, Steve Brady. Nell and Donald made the most of their days loving each other until he passed 1990.

Nell worked as a seamstress for many years and often shared stories with her grand kids. She worked at Tractor Supply Company in Indianapolis as well making life long friends. A homemaker for most of her life she built a home for her family. She loved flowers and would spend her spare time gardening.

Nell was a member of Freedom #2 Missionary Baptist Church where for many years she attended and served the Lord. She was a proud grandmother of 4 grandsons and 11 great grandchildren. Nothing made her happier than spending time with her family. She never missed an opportunity for a joke or to spread the word of Jesus.

Survivors include her daughter Robbie Madsen of Indianapolis; her grandsons Shawn (Tina) Madsen; Justin (Cheri) Brady; Brian (Morgan) Madsen; Max (Corrine) Brady; great grandchildren Kyra, Tyler, Ethan, Aryanna, Damien, Myles, Eli, Zoey, Kaylee, Alyssa and Danielle.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Brady, son Steve Brady, son in law CJ Madsen, parents Villie Netherton and Joyce Harlan, sister Darlene Kennedy and her brother William Netherton.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 20, at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.

Visitation is Monday morning after 10:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home. 

Burial will be in the Mt. Poland Cemetery immediately after the funeral services.
