Ruby Lee (Martin) Ray, 100, of Bowling Green, KY, formerly of Monroe County, KY, passed away Sunday, May 9th, at her residence.
Ruby was born in Monroe County, KY on July 7, 1920, a daughter of the late Bertha (Bartley) and Jim Martin.
On May 20, 1939, she married Ralph Ray. They were married for 68 years before his passing on March 14, 2008.
She was a member of Lyons Chapel Church of Christ. During her working career she was a cook for various restaurants in Tompkinsville.
Ruby is survived by a daughter, Linda Broderson, and husband, Jim, of Bowling Green, KY; two grandchildren, Caroline Baxter, and husband, David, and Courtney Biggerstaff, and husband, Rodney; three great grandchildren, William Baxter, James Baxter and Eleanore Biggerstaff.
Ruby is also survived by a sister, Janelle Emmert, of Louisville, KY, and several nieces and nephews.
Other than her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a son, James William Ray; brothers, Earl Martin, James Martin, Jr., Thomas Martin, and half brother, Clarence Martin.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 12th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY.
Visitation is Tuesday, 5-8 PM and Wednesday, 11AM until service time at 1 PM, at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
Burial is in Old Mt. Herman Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruby's memory may be made to the Old Mt. Herman Cemetery.
For the protection of Mrs. Ray's family it is kindly asked for anyone coming to the services to abide by Governor Beshear's recommendation of wearing a mask and practicing social distancing. No public lounge is available at this time.
