Ronnie Lee Wheat, 75, of Tompkinsville, KY, passed away Tuesday, October 3rd, at Greenview Hospital in Bowling Green, KY.
Ronnie was born in Barren County, KY, on November 25, 1947, a son of the late Madie Marie (Page) and Roy Adis Wheat.
Ronnie married Darlene Turner on March 3, 1967 at the home of Bro. Sammie Cherry in Gamaliel, KY.
Ronnie was no stranger to work, he retired from Scott and Ritter, worked as a mechanic, at Beldon, Stitches, Mallories and Proffitt Body Shop during his life. He served in the U.S. Army for three years. Ronnie enjoyed fishing, deer hunting and woodworking. Ronnie was a cut-up and enjoyed life.
Ronnie is survived by his wife of 56 years, Darlene Wheat, of Tompkinsville, KY; a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Debbie Wheat, of Tompkinsville, KY; one grandson, Derrick Wheat (Madison); two step grandchildren, Clint Simmons and Misty Pardue and five step great grandchildren, Kali Pardue, Kysen Pardue, Taylor Simmons, Tori Simmons and Taren Simmons.
Ronnie is also survived by three sisters, Pat Birge, of Mt. Herman, KY; Sherry Bryant, of Hiseville, KY ; Michelle Huff, of Maryville, TN and two brothers, Tim Wheat, of Glasgow, KY and Barry Wheat, of Maryville, TN.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 6th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY, with burial to follow at Monroe County Memorial Lawn.
Visitation is Thursday, 5-8:00 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
