Rita Faye (Gordon) Bryant, 67, of Tompkinsville, KY, passed away Wednesday, February 5th, at her home.
Rita was born in Indianapolis, Ind. on August 8, 1957, a daughter of the late Shirley (Poole) and Junior Gordon.
She married Dexter Bryant on June 22, 1973, at Mill Creek Baptist Church, celebrating over 51 years of marriage filled with love and devotion.
Throughout her life, Rita dedicated herself to caring for others. She worked as a caregiver aid and as a medical assistant, demonstrating compassion and kindness in everything she did. Rita cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Rita loved music, cooking, and her beloved dog, Susie, all of which brought her great happiness.
Rita is lovingly survived by her husband, Dexter Bryant, of Tompkinsville, KY; a daughter, Stephanie Young, and husband, Tom, of Gamaliel, KY; a son ,Dan Bryant, and wife, April, of Tompkinsville, KY; six grandchildren, J.W. Vickery (Amber), Dillion Vickery (Kendra), Devin Young (Ashlin), Sarah Bryant, Houston Bryant and Grant Bryant; eight great grandchildren, Levi, Lily, Paylyn, Oaklyn, Beau, and Jagger Vickery, Carson and Nash Young.
Rita is also survived by two sisters, Tammy Oakley, of Tompkinsville, KY and Teresa Wilson (Mark), of Tompkinsville, KY. and a brother, David Gordon (Sheila), of Tompkinsville, KY.
Other than her parents, Junior and Shirley Gordon, she is preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Daniels.
Funeral services 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 8th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY, with burial to follow at Monroe County Memorial Lawn.
Visitation is Friday, February 7, 4-8 p.m., and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
