Richard "Stitch" Poland

 

 

Richard Lynn "Stitch" Poland, 63, of Tompkinsville, KY passed away Wednesday, January 4th, surrounded by his family at Monroe County Medical Center.

 

Stitch was born in Tompkinsville, KY on January 19, 1959, a son of the late Jean (Chappell) and Ed Poland.

 

He owned and ran Richard Poland Distribution, most known for his Little Debbie Route. He graduated from Tompkinsville High School in 1977.

 

Stitch is lovingly survived by his fiance', Sharon Dugard, of Tompkinsville, KY; children, Whitley Castro, of Bowling Green, KY, Jon Michael Poland, and wife, Jodie, of Tompkinsville, KY, Kendra Hagan, and husband, Josh, of Tompkinsville, KY, and Jayla Poland of Louisville, KY; the mother of his children, Lisa Poland, of Tompkinsville, KY, and six grandchildren, Jaxon and Trace Hagan, Micah and Mia Castro, Jadi-Jean and Jon-Cooper Poland; and nephew, Jackie Poland. 

 

Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Anthony and Michael Poland.

 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 7th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY. Burial to follow at Monroe County Memorial Lawn. Visitation is Saturday morning after 9:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
