Raymond Brian "Pick" Pickerell, 50, of Nashville, TN and formerly of Tompkinsville, KY, passed away Sunday, May 19th, at his home.
Pick was born in Tompkinsville, KY on October 24, 1973, a son of Maggie Pickerell Stoops and the late John Lindsay Pickerell.
Pick was employed as a event coordinator for Music City Convention Center. He was a member of Rockbridge Baptist Church. He loved music and making people laugh, but was most proud of his grandsons. He could pick/slap a bass like no other. Pick educated a generation of Monroe County musicians. He lived the Rock-N-Roll lifestyle to his fullest and made his kids very cool in the process. He will be missed by many. In his words, "Train Roll On!"
Pick is survived by his mother, Maggie Pickerell Stoops, and husband Jim, of Glasgow, KY; sister, Kim Pickerell-Poynter and husband, John, of Glasgow, KY; daughter, Allison Pickerell (Trevor Lyles), of Bowling Green, KY; son, Forrest Pickerell (Katlyn), of Tompkinsville, KY; daughter, Courtney Pickerell (Jonah Jenkins), of Fountain Run, KY; and nephews, Dillon Pitcock (Kensie), Jarret Pitcock (Joni), and grandsons, Trace Pickerell, Jonesey Austin and Levi Jenkins.
He is preceded in death by his father, John Lindsay Pickerell.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Monroe County Memorial Lawn.
Visitation is Thursday, 4-8 p.m. and Friday, 8:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Pick's memory may be made to Nashville Rescue Mission.
