Ravin Elmore Propes, 80, of Tompkinsville, KY passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, June 11th, at Hospice House of Southern Kentucky.
Ravin was born in Monroe County, KY on August 8, 1940, a son of the late Alta Brown and Oscar Propes .
On January 28, 1961, he married Nancy Marie (Bray) in Tompkinsville, KY. Nancy preceded him in death on January 25, 1998.
He was a retired Monroe County School Bus Driver and farmer. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Church of Christ.
Ravin is survived by a daughter, Mary Amanda Davis, and husband, Chris, of Tompkinsville, KY; two sons Anthony Propes, and wife, Kimberly Dawn, of Wake Forest, NC and Jeffery Propes, and wife, Sharon, of Glasgow, KY; 4 grandchildren, Ryan Propes, Gavin Davis, Dylan Propes and Hanna Marie Davis; 3 great grandchildren, Isobel, Ian and Joseph Propes.
Ravin is also survived by four sisters, Reba Shaw, of Willow Shade, KY; Ruby Faulker, and husband, Paul, of Louisville, KY; Reva Jenkins, and husband Randy, of Virginia; Ruie Propes, of Indianapolis, IN. and a brother, Winfrey Propes, and wife, Wanda, of Indianapolis, IN.
Other than his wife, Nancy Propes, and parents, Oscar and Alta Propes, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph, Rollin and Reggie Propes.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, June 15th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY. Burial to follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Visitation is Monday, 4-8 PM, and Tuesday, after 8 AM until service time at 1:00 PM at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
