Ramona Bowman, 74, of Tompkinsville, KY, passed away on Friday, January 30th at TriStar Greenview Regional Medical Center in Bowling Green.
She was born March 15, 1951 in Ebenezer Ky to the late Carlos David and the late Elizabeth Inez (Turner) Ford.
She was a 1969 graduate of Gamaliel High School. She worked for several years as an associate for Houchen’s Grocery in Tompkinsville, and later worked for Drs. Ross, Birge and Stephens until she retired in 2019. She was a member of Grandview Church of Christ. She had a love for cooking, gardening, sewing, spending time with her grandkids and she really adored her pet cats.
She leaves behind a son, Jason (Barbara) Bowman of Georgetown; a daughter Alicia (Travis) Shepherd of Waddy; four grandchildren: Anderson Bowman of Georgetown, Elaina Short of Florence, Alex Bowman of Georgetown and Gabe Short of Lexington; two step grandchildren, Kelly Shepherd and Victory Shepherd both of Georgetown; two nieces: Torrie (Greg) Johnson of Fountain Run and Teresa (Olen) Murray of Gamaliel; two great nephews, Zach (Emily) Ford, of Austin Tracy, Joe Paul Johnson of Murfreesboro, TN and one great niece, Katie (Matthew) Gray of Austin.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents: Rad and Hester (Jackson) Turner, paternal grandparents: Franklin Clay and Myrtle (Howard) Ford, step mother, Cloe Nell Ford; her brothers, Ned David Ford and Waymon Ford and one sister, Nedith Ford.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 2, 2026 at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial to follow at Ebenezer Cemetery.
Visitation is Monday morning after 10:30 a.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
