Priscilla Smith Obituary

Priscilla Jackson Smith, age 65, of Tompkinsville, KY, passed away quietly in her sleep during the early morning hours of Saturday, August 15, 2020, after a short battle with cancer. Priscilla was preceded in death by her mother, Sarah W. Jackson, and her father, Dr. Rev. J. Harold Jackson. She is survived by a daughter, Robyn Smith, of Tompkinsville, her stepmother, Dr. Elizabeth Caldwell of Nashville, TN, a brother, Lewis Jackson (Leah) of Little Rock, AR, a sister, Julie Smelley (George) of Greensboro, AL, 4 nieces, 3 nephews, and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Priscilla was born on September 8, 1954 in Jennings, LA to her parents, Harold and Sally Jackson. As the family of a Presbyterian minister, Priscilla and her family were used to moving new places and making new friends. They moved to Arkansas in 1958 and remained in that state until Priscilla graduated from Hall High School in Little Rock and was admitted to Arkansas College in Batesville, AR.

While a student in junior high school and high school, Priscilla excelled as a flutist with with her schools' bands and won many awards both locally and statewide.

As she entered college, the family moved to Alabama. Priscilla completed her freshman year at Arkansas College and went on to graduate from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a BSRN with a specialty in Psychiatric Nursing. She worked diligently in her field at various hospitals for 25 years.

Priscilla loved her daughter, Robyn, with all her heart. She was so very grateful to Robyn for all of the scarifies she made and for the special care that she gave her up to the last moment of her life. It was truly a special, special bond.

Priscilla loved her daughter, her family, and her sweet dogs. She had a zest for life and really enjoyed mixing a little sarcasm with a lot of laughter! She was a big University of Alabama football fan and always had a "Roll Tide" text ready before every game.

Priscilla will truly be missed by her daughter and her family. We know, however, that she is at peace and is happy to be with her Lord, her mother and her father in Heaven. We will feel her smile and her laughter in our hearts until we meet again. We love and miss you Prissy!

A private family service will be held in the near future.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity of your choice.
