Michael "Mike" Lee Starnes, 74, of Tompkinsville, KY passed away Monday, December 19th, at TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green, KY. 
 
Mike was born in Barren County, KY on January 23, 1948, a son of the late Inez Head and Dr. R.D. Starnes.
 
Mike was a graduate of Tompkinsville High School in 1966. He then went to the University of Kentucky and graduated with a degree in Architecture. Mike was a co-owner of Tompkinsville Building Supply. After the building supply was sold out, he then went to work for Anderson Brothers Hardwoods and then later at James Ritter Lumber Co. Mike was a member of Mt. Gilead Church of Christ. 
 
On August 21, 1971, he married Brenda Dyer at Mt. Gilead Church of Christ. 
 
Mike is  survived by his wife of 51 years, Brenda Starnes, of Tompkinsville, KY; two daughters, Kim Parr, and husband, Jim, of Cortez, Colorado;  Leslie Campbell, and husband, Michael, of Alvaton, KY, and four grandchildren, Siena Parr, Landry, Livvy and Ramsey Campbell.
 
Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Larry "Sug" Starnes. 
 
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 22nd at Yokley Trible Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Monroe County Memorial Lawn. 
 
Visitation is Thursday morning after 7:30 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
 
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Mt. Gilead Cemetery or American Stroke Association.
