Max Sewell Moody, age 76, of Tompkinsville, Kentucky passed from this life Monday, September 19, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Max was born February 21, 1946 to Max Davie and Clova Sewell Moody in Tompkinsville, Kentucky.
He was of the Christian faith, saved and baptized at the age of 12 in 1958. He attended Monroe County School and worked for Bluegrass Supply Chain for nearly 16 years. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and loved his country. He loved being a grandpa, playing sudoku, playing and listening to music, and spending time with his wife, kids, and grandkids.
Max was preceded in death by his parents, Max "Davie" and Clova Moody and an older brother, Jackie.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Janie of 47 years, two sons; Stan of Tompkinsville, Daniel (Jennifer) of Somerset, one daughter, Janna (Derek) Otto of Stanford, five grandchildren whom he cherished; Emma, Abby, Jackson, Ethan, and William, two brothers; Joe (Shirley) Moody of Tompkinsville and Ned Moody of Tompkinsville, three nephews; Steven (Cat) Moody of Louisville, Dennis (Patti) Pitcock of Bowling Green, and Ashley (Amy) Thompson of Tompkinsville, and many other family and friends.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at 12 p.m. at the funeral home with Daniel Moody and Derek Otto officiating. Burial will follow in Sid Yokley Cemetery with military rites being performed by Glasgow DAV Chapter 20. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at 5-8 p.m. at Yokley-Trible Funeral Home and again on Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until service time at 12 noon.
In lieu of flowers donations in Max's memory may be made to Glasgow DAV Chapter 20.
