Mark Wheat, 72, of Tompkinsville, KY, passed away Tuesday, July 7th, at his home.
Mark was born in Monroe County, KY, on June 28, 1954, a son of the late Hettie (Turner) and Willard Wheat.
He was retired from Stephens MFG, where he worked as a welder. He was a member of Poplar Log Missionary Baptist Church. Mark enjoyed hunting, putting model cars together, playing guitar and was a founding member of No Deposit Band.
He married Loretta Hale Wheat on November 18, 1972 in Celina, TN. Loretta preceded him in death on July 1, 2026.
Mark is survived by a daughter, Cristy Arnett, and husband, Jason, of Tompkinsville, KY; three grandchildren, Madison, Hannah and Emily.
Mark is also survived by a sister, Nyoka Hestand, of Tompkinsville, KY; and a brother, Tex Jr. Wheat, of Tompkinsville, KY.
Other than his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Wheat.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Harlan's Crossroad Cemetery.
Visitation is Friday morning after 8:30 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
