Margie Billingsley Obituary

Margie A. Billingsley, 89, of Camby, Indiana, formerly of Tompkinsville, Kentucky, passed peacefully at her home on April 3, 2026.

Born on June 15, 1936, in Tompkinsville, Kentucky, Margie was the daughter of the late Gardner and Annie Ferguson. She attended Bray School in her hometown, where her early years were rooted in the values of hard work, faith, and family—principles that would guide her throughout her life.

Margie was a devoted Christian and a faithful member of Germany Church of Christ. Her faith was the foundation of her life, shaping the love, kindness, and strength she showed to everyone around her. She lived her beliefs daily, serving as a quiet but powerful example of grace, compassion, and unwavering trust in God.

Above all, Margie was a dedicated wife, mother, and Granny. She shared 72 loving years of marriage with her husband, George D. Billingsley, whom she married on December 26 in Tompkinsville, Kentucky. Together, they built a life centered on love, family, and faith, eventually making their home in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Margie’s greatest joy came from her family. She poured her heart into raising her children and took immense pride in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom she cherished deeply. Her home was a place of warmth, guidance, and unconditional love—a legacy that will continue through the generations she nurtured.

She is survived by her children: Eldon Billingsley of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; Vickey Marks of Camby, Indiana; and Greg Billingsley and his wife Valerie of South Elgin, Illinois. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Matthew Billingsley, Steven Billingsley, Stacey Burgess (Thomas Burgess), Jennifer Marks, Jessica Marks, Jamie Marks, Erica Diaz (Jesse Diaz), and Kyle Billingsley (Rachel Shortt), sister, Hilda Rhoton of Tompkinsville.

Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Matthew Billingsley, Juliana Wright, Bodie Burgess, Layla Billingsley, Abigail Billingsley, Oscar Diaz, Olivia Diaz, Abel Billingsley, Jaden Marks, and Jocelynn Marks.

In addition to her parents and husband, Margie was preceded in death by her brothers, Ralph Ferguson, Rawleigh Ferguson, and Rondal Ferguson; and her sisters, Cletra Hammer and Jean McPhearson.

A funeral service will be held at 2PM, Saturday, April 11, 2026, with Minister Tim McHenry officiating. Interment will follow at Monroe County Memorial Lawn. Visitation will be from 11AM until service time at 2PM.  A monument will be placed at a later date.

Margie’s life was a testament to enduring faith and unconditional love. She will be remembered not only for the family she raised, but for the values she instilled—faith in God, devotion to family, and a life lived with quiet strength and grace.
