Leatha Maerene (Proffitt) Bartley, 93, of Tompkinsville, KY passed away Saturday, May 15th, at Signature Health Care of Monroe County.
Maerene was born in Monroe County, KY on April 17, 1928, a daughter of the late Gladys (Smith) and Claude T. Proffitt.
On December 23, 1948, she married Ben Bartley in Franklin, KY. Ben preceded her in death on March 8, 2010.
She was a member of Sulphur Ridge Church of Christ.
Maerene is survived by three daughters, Sandie Bartley, of Tompkinsville, KY; Faye Warren, and husband, JR, of Portland, TN; Dawn Emberton, and husband, Charles, of Tompkinsville, KY; and a son,Terry Bartley, and wife, Rosetta, of Franklin, KY; 12 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 10 step great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Maerene is also survived by a brother, Glen Proffitt, of Tompkinsville, KY.
Other than her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by two sons, Evans Dale and Jackie T. Bartley; one great grandson, Evan Warren; one sister, Vivian Gearlds; and four brothers, Rex, Evans, Louis and Ezra Proffitt.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 18th at 1:00 PM at Yokley Trible Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Monroe County Memorial Lawn.
Visitation with the family will be Monday, 5-8 PM, and Tuesday morning after 8 AM until service time at 1:00 PM at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Maerene's memory may be made to Old Mt. Herman Cemetery or Isenberg Cemetery.
