Zella Mae (White) Thompson, 76, of Tompkinsville, KY passed away Thursday, April 1st, at Signature Health Care of Monroe County.
Mae was born in Monroe County, KY on July 28, 1944, a daughter of the late Thelma Mae (Geralds) and Denton Bradley White.
On February 17, 1962, she married Earl Thompson in Clay County, TN.
She was a member of Cave Springs Missionary Baptist Church. Mae was retired from working at Red Kap Sewing Factory and as a cook for the Monroe County School System.
Mae is survived by her husband, Earl Thompson; a son and daughter-in-law, Mikel and Paula Thompson; four sisters, Willodean White, Wanda Cleary, Sue Wilson, and Joyce Massingille and a brother, Jimmy White, all of Tompkinsville, KY.
Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Modelle Carter and Mary Jewell Hagan.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 4th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY. Burial to follow at Monroe County Memorial Lawn.
Visitation is Saturday, 4-8 PM, and Sunday, after 9 AM until service time at 2 PM at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mae's memory may be made to Cave Springs Missionary Baptist Church.
For the protection of Mae's family, it is kindly asked for anyone coming to the services to abide by Governor Beshears recommendation of wearing a mask and practicing social distancing.
