Kimberly Ann "Kim" (Ford) Russell, 57, of the Ebenezer Community in Tompkinsville, KY, passed away Saturday, August 26th, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.
Kim was born in Tompkinsville, KY on June 24, 1966, the daughter of Leah Traglio, of Colorado Springs, CO and William Watson, of Pennsylvania. She was raised by her grandparents, the late Ray and Gracie Ford.
She married Ricky Russell on March 27, 1987 at the home of Melvin Holland.
She was a 1984 graduate of Tompkinsville High School. She worked on the family’s dairy farm until they sold the cows and she retired. She was a homemaker and babysat two special kids, Rhett and Mary Grace Smith. Kim loved to bake and was famous for her sweet breads, chess bars, and especially chocolate chip cookies for her grandsons, Luke and Bo. When their Nana wasn’t spoiling them with sweets, she listened to their farming stories as they played in the dirt with their toy tractors. She also loved her pets, Gus and Bebe.
Kim is survived by her husband, Ricky Russell, of Tompkinsville, KY; three daughters, Amy Cecil (Kirk) of Tompkinsville, KY; Megan Shipley (Grayson Pare), of Gamaliel, KY; Sara Russell (John Austin Geralds), of Tompkinsville, KY; and two grandchildren, Luke Cecil and Bo Shipley.
Kim is also survived by a brother, Steve Traglio, of Security, CO; “sister”, Anita McLerran, of Red Boiling Springs, TN; a host of extended family and two special friends, Geraldine Carter and Marie Humes.
Other than her grandparents, she is preceded in death by her step father, John Traglio.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, August 31st at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY, with burial to follow at Ebenezer Cemetery.
Visitation is Wednesday, 4-8 p.m., and Thursday, 8:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
