Junior "J.R." Gordon, 83, of Tompkinsville, KY passed away Thursday, March 9th, at Hospice of Southern Kentucky.
Junior was born in Cumberland County, KY on April 3, 1939, a son of the late Ella (Gearlds) and Charlie Gordon.
He retired from Roy Anderson Lumber Company after working for 39 years as a dozer operator.
On February 9, 1957, he married Shirley Ann (Poole) Gordon. Shirley preceded him in death on August 29, 2020.
Junior is survived by his children, Rita Bryant, and husband, Dexter, Teresa Wilson, and husband, Mark, David Gordon, and wife, Sheila, and Tammy Oakley, all of Tompkinsville, KY, 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
Also surviving are three sisters, Louise Graves, of Tompkinsville, KY, Kathy Humphrey of Sparta, TN, and Betty Monday, of Indianapolis, IN, and one brother, Edward Gordon of Tompkinsville, KY.
Other than his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Daniels, a great-granddaughter, Autumn York, three brothers, Tim, Doug and Terry Gordon and a sister, Wanda Gordon.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 14, at 1:00 p.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Wilson-Basil Cemetery.
Visitation is Monday, 4-8 p.m., and Tuesday, 6:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
