June Marie (Grinestaff) Gittings, 86, of Tompkinsville, KY, passed away Wednesday, January 3rd, at NHC in Glasgow, KY.
June was born in Tompkinsville, KY on March 29, 1937, a daughter of the late Mamie (Emberton) and Don Marrs Grinestaff.
On January 28, 1956, she married Rex Gittings. Rex preceded her in death on March 31, 2017.
June worked as a Health Aid for over 20 years, she was a co-owner of Save-A-Lot, a homemaker and a farmer, avid reader, and a member at Cedar Grove Church of Christ and later at Berea Church of Christ.
June is survived by a daughter, Peggy Gittings, of Tompkinsville, KY, nephew, Wallace Murphy of Villa Hills, KY, and niece, Becky Miller of Melbourne, FL and her cat, Whitey,
Other than her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Sammie Gittings, and two sisters, Betty Lou Murphy and Deloris June.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 6th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY, with entombment to follow at Monroe County Memorial Lawn Mausoleum.
Visitation will be Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in June's memory may be made to Monroe County Humane Society.
