John Henry Strode

John Henry Strode, 74, of  Castalian Springs, TN formerly of Tompkinsville, passed away Monday, June 7th, at Centennial Medical Center, Nashville, TN. 

John was born in Monroe County, KY on August 4, 1946, a son of the late Laura Belle (Bow) and Jim Tom Strode.

He married Dora Banten August 4, 1990 in Tompkinsville. He had worked at Garment Factories, was of the Baptist faith and attended Indian Creek Baptist Church.

John is  survived by his wife, Dora (Banten) Strode of Castalian Springs, TN, five daughters, Sandy, wife of  Doug Burks, of Tompkinsville, KY;  
Sherry Strode, of Glasgow, KY;  Sharon Walker, of Tompkinsville, KY;  
Kathy Harbour, of Gallatin, TN; Susan Phillips, of Gallatin, TN;  
four sons Chris, husband of  Jennifer Strode, of Glasgow, KY;  Michael, husband of  Elizabeth Strode, of Tompkinsville, KY;  Michael Maxwell, Companion to Lance Maxwell, of New York, NY; Chris, husband of  Robin Kane, of Castalian Springs, TN;  
 
He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren & several nieces & nephews

John is also survived by sister, Joyce, wife of  Bobby Crews, of Tompkinsville, KY;  
a brother, Gary Strode, of Tompkinsville, KY. 
 
His Parents, Laura Belle & Jim Tom Strode & siblings, Ivan Strode, Inez Jones, Wilma Strode, Ida Pearl Strode, Clinton Strode, Ellen Dean Walker, James Clifton "Tip" Strode, Jerry Strode & Kenneth Strode preceded him in death.

Funeral Service will be held 1 PM on Friday, June 11th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY, Brother Gary Emberton will officiate.

Visitation will be held 4 PM to 8 PM on Thursday, June 10th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY & 8 AM to 1 PM on Friday, June 11th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY.

Interment at Brown Cemetery, Tompkinsville KY.
