John Royce Lyons

John Royce Lyons, 79, of  Tompkinsville, KY passed away Tuesday, April 19th, at Monroe County Medical Center.

John was born in Monroe County, KY  on August 17, 1942, a son of the late Elva Jewell (Wax) and Hade  Lyon.

He was married to Lucille Staples Lyons, who preceded him in death on March 14, 1984.

John was a farmer in the Sandlick Community of Monroe County, KY. 

John is survived by a son, Johnny Lyons, and wife, Christie, of Tompkinsville, KY;  two grandchildren, John Reece Lyons and Rylee Lucille Lyons.

John is also survived by a brother, Cecil Lyons, of Tompkinsville, KY.

Other than his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by five brothers, Orby, Ivan, Hade Jr., James, Earl and Rondall; and three sisters, Nelda Jones, Inez Burks and Jennie Morgan. 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 21st at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY with burial to follow at Monroe County Memorial Lawn. 

Visitation is Thursday morning after 8:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
