Joe Curtis, 71, of Tompkinsville, KY passed away Tuesday, April 20th, at his home.
Joe was born in Tompkinsville, KY on February 26, 1950, a son of the late Sally (Bryant) and Jacob Ward Curtis.
He was a utility contractor and owned United Pipeline. He served in the National Guard for 9 years.
Joe is survived by a daughter, Shannon Emberton, and husband, Mark, of Tompkinsville, KY; a son, James Curtis, and wife, Candi, of Tompkinsville, KY; 5 grandchildren, Joseph Walden, and wife, Megan, Shelby and Utah Emberton, Alexander and Benjamin Curtis; and two great grandchildren, Sophia and Bryson Walden.
Joe is also survived by three sisters, Tilda Jaskula, of Milford, IL, Pearl Stinebring, of Buckley, IL and Ethel Lucht, and husband, Dave of Milford, IL; three brothers, Robert Curtis, and wife, Lori, of Illinois, Mitchell Curtis, and wife, Sue, and Michael Curtis, both of Tompkinsville, KY.
Other than his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers, Jacob Curtis and Roosevelt Dubree, and two sisters, Donnie Rich and Mary Jane Warren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 23rd at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY. Burial to follow at Old Mt. Herman Cemetery.
Visitation is Thursday, April 22, 2020 from 4-8 PM, and Friday, after 7:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe's memory may be made to Hosparus of Barren River.
For the protection of Mr. Curtis' family, it is kindly asked for anyone coming to the service to abide by Governor Beshears recommendation of wearing a mask and practicing social distancing. No public lounge is available at this time due to Covid-19.
