Joe Cecil Adams

Joe Cecil Adams, 71, of  Tompkinsville, KY passed away Sunday, October 30th, at  Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN. 

Joe was born in Tompkinsville, KY on December 16, 1950, a son of the late Lola Bell (Hutcherson) and Earbie  Adams.

On September 8, 1969, he married Wanda Copass in Lafayette, TN.

Joe was a member of Athens Missionary Baptist Church. He worked at Monroe Feed and Farm for 20 years. He then worked at Belden in the Put-Up Department. He lastly worked as a Custodian at Monroe County High School for 15 years and had just retired on May 31, 2022. Although his favorite work and pastime was owning AAA Lawn Care with his son. He served on the Tompkinsville Fire Department since 1973.

Joe is survived by his wife of 53 years, Wanda Adams, of Tompkinsville, KY;  one son, Bobby Adams, and wife, Brandi, of Tompkinsville, KY and one daughter, Amanda Adams Rich, and husband, Greg, of Tompkinsville, KY;  6 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. 

Joe is also survived by a sister, Marie Humes, of Tompkinsville, KY; three brothers, Morris Adams, and wife, Sherrie; Jackie Adams, and wife, Marolynn, both of Tompkinsville, KY; and Doyle Adams, and wife, Patty of Bowling Green, KY.

Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Darrell Adams and a sister, Shirley Ford.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 4th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY. Burial to follow at Monroe County Memorial Lawn.

Visitation is Thursday, 2-8 p.m., and Friday, 7:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe's memory may be made to Ebenezer Cemetery.
