Jenette (Baskett) Poland, 86, of Tompkinsville, KY, passed away Monday, October 2nd, at Signature Health Care of Monroe County.
Jenette was born in Tompkinsville, KY on October 28, 1936, a daughter of the late Delpha B. Thompson and Homer Baskett.
Jenette was the office manager for Dr. James E. Carter for 45 years. She loved her job and taking care of patients and in her later years, Jeanette loved being remembered for her time at Dr. Jimmy's office. Jenette enjoyed word search puzzles and spending time with her family.
She married James T. Poland on February 21, 1957. James preceded her in death on November 26, 1994.
Jenette is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Barbara Poland, of Tompkinsville, KY, and a grandson, Craig Poland, of Knoxville, TN.
Jenette is also survived by a sister, Gene Austin, of Gamaliel, KY.
Other than her husband and parents she is preceded in death by a sisters, Betty Baskett Carter.
Graveside services and burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 5th at Monroe County Memorial Lawn. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 4, 4-8 p.m. and Thursday, October 5, 8:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
