James Lewis Proffitt, II, 63, of Bon Aqua, TN, formally of Monroe County, KY, passed away Friday, August 30th, at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, TN.
James was born in Louisville, KY on February 17, 1961, a son of the late Sue (Bartley) Proffitt and James Lewis Proffitt, of Tompkinsville, KY.
He was a graduate of Tompkinsville High School Class of 1979. He worked as a Psychological Examiner He enjoyed dogs especially his beloved Oreo. He was fan of Bob Dylan and all types of music. He loved canoeing, cave exploring, hiking and being outdoors.
James is survived by his father, James Lewis "Jim" Proffitt, of Tompkinsville, KY, a sister, Julie Hibbett, and husband, Rob, of Florence, AL and a brother, Jonathan Proffitt, of Nashville, TN. Several nieces, nephews and extended family also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY, with burial to follow at Neal Cemetery.
Visitation will be held after 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning until the service time at 1:00 p.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
