James New Obituary
James Anthony New, 55, of Owensboro, KY passed away Saturday, September 25th, at his home.
James was born in Cincinnati, OH on July 28, 1966, a son of Mountjoy Metcalf, of Cincinnati, OH and the late Eva (Burnett) Hollingsworth.
James was an Engineer by trade. He was a phenomenal banjo player and was one of the original members of Southern Express. James, while not a native of Monroe County, considered it and its people his home.
James is survived by his wife, Andrea Leach New, of Owensboro, KY; a daughter, Stephanie New and three sons Charles New, Cody New, and Joshua New.
James is also survived by four sisters, Linda New, Wanda New, Mickey Metcalf Smith and Kathy Metcalf Kalb and a brother, Danny New.
Other than his mother, he is preceded in death by a brother, Gary Burnett.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 29th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home, 510 West Fourth Street, Tompkinsville, KY. Visitation is Wednesday morning after 11:00 AM at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
Burial is in Mt. Poland Cemetery in Tompkinsville, KY.
