Jackie Keen Chappell, Jr., 85, of Tompkinsville, KY passed away Monday, October 5th, at Monroe County Medical Center.
Jackie was born in Tompkinsville, KY on December 1, 1934, a son of the late Alma (Dyer) and Jack Chappell.
On March 5, 1955, in Rossville, GA, he married Jean Spivey.
He graduated Tompkinsville High School in 1953. He served as a Sgt. in the 623rd National Guard Unit. He was a salesman and the owner of Metcalfe County Memorial Gardens.
Jackie is survived by his wife, Jean Chappell, of Tompkinsville, KY; a daughter, Sheila Troutt, and husband, Ricky, of Westmoreland, TN.; 3 grandchildren, Shane Davis (Natalie), Carrie Beth Parks (Marcus), Candi Morrow (Jeff); 7 great grandchildren, Aidan Davis, Katie Parks, Hannah Young, Isabella Parks, Jackson Parks, Cooper Troutt and MaKenna Morrow.
Other than his parents he is preceded in death by a daughter, Shari Denise Chappell, and a sister, Jean Poland.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 9th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY. Burial to follow in Monroe County Memorial Lawn.
Visitation is Thursday, 4-8 PM, and Friday, 9:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
For the protection of Mr. Chappell's family, it is kindly asked for anyone coming to the services to abide by Governor Beshear's recommendation of wearing a mask and practicing social distancing. No public lounge is available at this time due to COVID-19.
