Hazel Dyer Curtis, 93, of Rineyville, KY, formerly of Tompkinsville, KY, passed from this world to her heavenly home on Sunday, October 22, 2023.
She was born on April 7, 1930, a daughter of Ados B. and Ruby (Hampton) Dyer.
Hazel was a Christian and spent many hours reading her Bible. She attended First Baptist Church. She was a good cook and loved making pies, especially her black walnut pie. Her hobby was working in her yard where she loved her flower beds and hydrangea bushes.
Left to honor her memory are her nieces and nephews, Lois New, Judy Balding and David Dyer, all of Indianapolis, In, Kathryn Dyer, Kim Martinez , Kevin and Roger Dale Dyer, all of Tompkinsville, KY, Sue Anne Staples Brooks, of Rineyville, KY and Marla Staples Storm of Huntingburg, IN and other extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ados B. and Ruby Hampton Dyer; her ex-husband, Ralph Curtis; an infant sister, Roxy; two brothers, Waymond and Fred Dyer; sister, Mayme Staples; and her special best friend, Eddie Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Tompkinsville First Baptist Church with Bro. Deven Smith officiating. Visitation is Wednesday morning after 9:00 a.m. until service time at 12 noon at Tompkinsville First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Bailey Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ms. Hazel's memory may be made to Tompkinsville First Baptist Church- bereavement fund.
