Greg Dale Shirley, 55, of Tompkinsville, KY passed away Sunday, October 10th, at UK Medical Center in Lexington, KY.
Greg was born in Tompkinsville, KY on September 21, 1966, a son of Genoa (Rhoton) and the late Bobby Dale Shirley.
He worked Maintenance at McDonald and Owen Lumber Company. He had previously worked as a welder at Froedge Machine and was a farmer. He was a member at Athens Baptist Church.
Greg is survived by two sons, Jesse Ray Shirley and Jacob Shirley; fiancé, Melissa McFarland; mother, Genoa Shirley; two grandchildren, Hunter Gregory Shirley and Lakeland Fall Shirley, all of Tompkinsville, KY.
Greg is also survived by three sisters, Dana Shirley, of Missouri ; Teresa Annette Shirley and Donya Shirley, both of Tompkinsville, KY.
It has been said that people leave marks on your life. These seven men left scars, not bad ones but molded Greg's life in many ways. Greg had his "brothers" -- Sonny Turner, Robert Carter, Mark Copas, The Late Todd Hale, Anthony Emberton, Jimmy Rich and Jeff Bybee.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, October 14th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY. Burial to follow at White Cemetery.
Visitation is Wednesday, 5:00-8:00 PM, and Thursday, after 8:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
