Glenn Edward McNabb died peacefully on July 8, 2025, at the age of 87. Born in New Castle,
Indiana to JB and Virgie McNabb, he grew up as an earnest young farmer in Mt. Sterling,
Kentucky with his two sisters Lillian and Shirley. Upon earning a Bachelors in Agriculture from
the University of Kentucky and after marrying the love of his life Sharon Long, he then served in
the U.S. Air Force as an air traffic controller deployed to Okinawa, Japan. Returning from duty
he accepted a position with the UK Agricultural Extension Service, with whom he dedicated
nearly forty years of his life in various positions, and in numerous locales within the
Commonwealth, eventually retiring in 2001 as an Area Director. A loving husband, father, great-
grandfather, and a good friend to many, he made the most of his retirement years with Sharon,
traveling often, spending time with the grand and great-grandchildren, and also continuing to
farm. He and Sharon were longstanding members of Immanuel Baptist Church in Lexington.
He is predeceased by his parents JB and Virgie, wife Sharon and sister Lillian Stephens. He is
survived by sister Shirley Coppler and sister-in-law Linda Donaldson; daughter Lori Bethel (Karl)
and son Stephen McNabb (Stewart); grandchildren Brittany Love (Charlie) and Jarred Bethel
(Kelly); great-grandchildren Olivia and Charlie Love and James and Luke Bethel, and multiple
nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be on July 17th at 5-7 p.m., and services on July 18th
at 10:30 a.m., both at Kerr Brothers on Harrodsburg Road. Interment will follow the service at
the Lexington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Immanuel Baptist
Church or the Alzheimer's Association
