Glendell C. Turner, 87, of Tompkinsville, KY passed away Sunday, February 26th, at NHC in Glasgow, KY.
Glendell was born in Monroe County, Ky on November 19, 1935, a son of the late Flossie Jane (Proffitt) Turner and Clyde Turner.
He married Elizabeth "Liz" Ferguson on May 5, 1961 in Celina, TN.
Glendell was a dairy farmer until his health didn't allow it anymore.
Glendell is survived by his wife of 61 years, Liz Turner, a daughter, Sheryl Garrett and her husband, Kenny, and a son, Danny Turner, all of Tompkinsville, KY; five grandchildren, Kena Flanary (Brandon), Jodi Dubree (Bradley), Zeke Turner, Nicholas Turner (Hanna) and Abby Dubree (John) and nine great grandchildren, Joseph, Chloe, Jase,
Trace, Payton, Tate, Waylon, Brenlyn, and Wren.
Glendell is also survived by two sisters, Christine Birge, of Tompkinsville, KY; Dean Story, of Nashville, TN, and a brother, Eugene Turner, of Tompkinsville, KY.
Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Jade Dubree; a brother, Rex Turner and three sisters, Mossey Ree Shirley, Bernelle Emberton and Geneva
Jennings.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, March 3rd, at Yokley Trible Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Monroe County Memorial Lawn.
Visitation is Thursday, 4-8 p.m. and Friday, 8:00 a.m. until service time at 12 noon at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Glendell's memory may be made to Down Syndrome of Southern Kentucky.
