George Edward Emberton

George Edward Emberton, 79, of Tompkinsville, KY passed away peacefully Thursday, April 6th at NHC Health Care in Glasgow, KY.

George was born in Tompkinsville on December 21, 1943.  He was a son of the late Clifford T. and Alesa (Conkin) Emberton.  He married Sandra Tooley August 27, 1960 in Celina, TN.  He retired as a supervisor at SKF where he worked in many capacities during his 43 year career.  He was an avid outdoorsman known for his excellent marksmanship skill.  He enjoyed gun repair, loading ammunition, fishing, and excelled in problem solving.  He loved his family and was recently baptized into the blood of Christ.

George is survived by his wife, Sandra Tooley of Tompkinsville, his daughter Georgann, wife of Mike Thompson of Tompkinsville; his son Charles Edward, husband of Tonya Emberton of Bowling Green.  He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Jonathon, Caitlin, and Elaina, 2 great-grandchildren, Michael and Jordan, and 1 great-great grandchild, Hudson; and his brother Jerry Lee Emberton and his wife, Betty, of Tompkinsville.

His parents, Clifford & Alesa Emberton, brother J.O. Emberton, and sister Blanche Stephens preceded him in death.

Visitation will be held at Yokley Trible Funeral Home from 4 PM to 7 PM on Saturday, April 8th, and 12:30 PM to 2 PM on Sunday, April 9th.

Funeral services will be held at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville at 2 PM on Sunday, April 9th.

Burial will be in Monroe County Memorial Lawn, Tompkinsville.
