George Dwayne Billingsley, known lovingly as “Paw,” passed away on January 25, 2026, at the age of 93. He was born on September 8, 1932.
George is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years, Margie Billingsley; his three children, Vickey, Eldon, and Greg; eight grandchildren; Matthew Billingsley, Steven Billingsley, Stacey Burgess (Thomas Burgess), Jennifer Marks, Jessica Marks, Jamie Marks, Erica Diaz (Jesse Diaz), and Kyle Billingsley (Rachel Shortt), ten great grandchildren – Matthew Billingsley, Juliana Wright, Bodie Burgess, Layla Billingsley, Abigail Billingsley, Oscar Diaz, Olivia Diaz, Able Billingsley, Jaden Marks and Jocelynn Marks, Surviving Brothers, Lewis and Guy Billingsley, Deceased brother, Kenneth L., Charles W., James and Mack.
He worked 17 years as a foreman at Fairmont Glass before spending 23 years at Ford in Indianapolis, retiring on January 1, 1996. George and Margie moved to Tompkinsville, Kentucky in 2000, where they lived for 25 years, before returning to Indianapolis in 2025.
George will be remembered for his dedication to Christ, to his family, and for his kind-hearted nature and sense of humor.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 5 at 2:00 p.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home with burial to follow at Monroe County Memorial Lawn. Visitation is Thursday morning after 11:00 a.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m
