Flora Nell (Butler) Gettings, 91, of Tompkinsville, KY passed away Saturday, October 12th, at her sons residence in Tompkinsville.
Flora Nell was born in Tompkinsville, KY on June 5, 1933, one of 10 children born to the late Iva Lyons and William Houston Butler.
She worked many years as a preschool teacher assistant for the Monroe County Board of Education. She was a member at Poplar Log Missionary Baptist Church. She was married to the late Arzie Gettings for over 50 years, he preceded her in death March 9, 2003.
Flora Nell is survived by a son, Thomas Nelson, husband of Brenda Gettings, of Tompkinsville, KY. is also survived by 2 grandsons, Daniel Nelson Gettings & Steven Kyle Gettings & wife Brandi, grand-daughter, Jalyn Whitaker & husband Chad, 7 great-grandchild, Griffin Kyle Gettings, Maddie Spears & husband Chantz, & Emma Denton, Waylon & Brenlyn Turner & Chloe & Cash Whitaker, great-great-grandchildren. Lakely & Landri Spears, Flora is also survived by sister-in-law, Loraine Butler of Tompkinsville.
Her parents, husband, Arzie Thomas Gettings, brothers, Clyde, Cecil, Bethel, Josh, Sam, Bert & John Glen Butler, sisters, Loretta Butler & Ruby Collison & daughter-in-law, Brenda Lynn Gettings & granddaughter, Jerica Hammer preceded her in death.
Funeral Service will be held 11 AM on Tuesday, October 15th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY. Brother Eddie Wilson will officiate.
Visitation will be held 4 PM to 8 PM on Monday, October 14th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY. and 8 AM to 11 AM on Tuesday, October 15th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY.
Burial Monroe County Memorial Lawn, Tompkinsville, KY.
Memorial donations suggested to the Poplar Log Church.
Mark Caye, Darrell and David Butler, Josh, Jordan & Haven Page & Brad Thompson will serve as pallbearers. Members of the Poplar Log Church, Joe Eagle, Tommy, Mitchell & Ronnie Page, Mitchell Thompson, James Alford, Bruce Harper, Brother Joe Headrick, Dr. Jerry Bean, Michael Page and Ronnie Butler served as honorary pallbearers.
