Connie (Smith) Coffelt

Connie (Smith) Coffelt, 65, of Tompkinsville, KY, passed away Friday, January 10th, at her home.

Connie was born in Tompkinsville, KY on February 16, 1959, a daughter of the late Pearl (Jackson) and Paul Smith.

On July 30, 1977, she married Hubert Coffelt at the home of Bro. Paul "Cricket" Strong.

She was a 1977 graduate of Tompkinsville High School. Connie worked as a speech therapist aide at Tompkinsville Elementary School and Joe Harrison Carter Elementary School. Connie especially enjoyed the children and her friends from work. Connie's favorite title was being "Meme" to her grandchildren, MaKinley and Carson, and she truly enjoyed spending time with them. As long as they were happy, she was happy! Connie enjoyed animals, working outside in her flowers and trips to the beach.

Connie is survived by her husband of 47 years, Hubert Coffelt; son, Matthew Coffelt, and wife, Elizabeth; two grandchildren, MaKinley and Carson Coffelt, all of Tompkinsville, KY.

Connie is also survived by two brothers, Robert Smith, of Tompkinsville, KY and Randall Smith, of Glasgow, KY and a sister, Norma Freed, of Indianapolis, IN. 

Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Willis D. and Danny Wayne Smith and two sisters, Betty Allen and Vicky Smith, and stepfather, Prent Anderson.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15, at Yokley Trible Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Bethlehem Cemetery.

Visitation is Tuesday, 3:00-8:00 p.m. and Wednesday after 8:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
