Carolyn Sue (Mayfield) Quick, 66, of Gamaliel, KY passed away Sunday, July 4th, at Saint Thomas West in Nashville, TN.
Carolyn was born in Wichita, Kansas on December 5,1954, a daughter of the late Emma (McGuire) Thompson and Wayman Arthur Mayfield. She also had foster parents, Don and Wanda "June" DuBois, who also preceded her in death.
She was a member of Celina First Baptist Church.
On October 4, 1974, she married Michael Quick in Stockton, CA at Carolyn's grandmother home.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Michael Quick, of Gamailel, KY; three daughters, Samantha Collins (Christopher), of Gamaliel, KY; Calla Quick, of Gamaliel, KY;
Tonya Miles (Jared), of Trinity, NC; two sons Joshua Quick, of Jackson, CA; Joseph Quick, of Gamaliel, KY; 18 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Carolyn has lovingly mothered over 100 foster children over the years.
Also surviving are five sisters, Diane Blankenship (Jesse), of Lodi, CA; Jeannie Lowe, of Valley Springs, CA; Christine (Cricket) Hammond, of Sacramento, CA; Debbie Jenkins (Larry), of Springfield, MO; Brenda McDonald, of Stockton, CA. a brother, Phillip Mayfield, of Sheridan, Arkansas; foster brothers, William "Bill" (Nikki) DuBois of Pioneer, CA; Charles Thomas "Tommy" DuBois, of Stockton, CA; and Doyle (Dory) DuBois, St. Augustine, FL.
Other than her parents and foster parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Pamela Anderson.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, July 9th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY. Visitation is Thursday, 4-8 PM, and Friday morning, after 8 AM until service time at 1:00 PM. Burial is in Gamaliel Cemetery.
