Calvin Billy Deckard, 68, of Nashville, TN and formerly of Monroe County, KY, passed away Monday, July 17th, at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN.
He was born in Tompkinsville, KY on January 8, 1955, a son of the late Ruth (Norris) and Jess Ralph Deckard.
He worked as a carpenter. He was of the Church of Christ faith and was baptized August 11, 2013 at Intercity Church of Christ in Nashville, TN. He is going to be remembered for making lasting impressions on people and for being a people person.
Calvin Billy Deckard is survived by two daughters, Jessica Cato (Andy), of Griffin, GA and Ann Deckard (Neal), of Celina, TN; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Also surviving are three sisters, Jean Miller, and husband, Prentice, of Tompkinsville, KY; Patty Smith, of Red Boiling Springs, TN; Pamela Jo Smith, of Nashville, TN;
two brothers, Roger Dale Deckard, and wife, Maureen, of Tompkinsville, KY; Bobby Joe Deckard, and companion, Eve, of Horse Cave, KY; sister-in-law, Nelda Deckard, of Red Boiling Springs, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Henry Clay, Cass Frank and Kenny Deckard, a sister, Betty June Crosby, and two brothers-in-law, Harold Smith and Donald Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 20th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY, with burial to follow at Monroe County Memorial Lawn.
Visitation is Thursday morning after 6:00 a.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
