Billy Duard Birge, 85, of the Sulphur Lick Community, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022 at The Monroe County Medical Center.
He was born on November 30, 1936 in Tompkinsville, KY to the late Elzie Birge and Laura Birge Bartley.
Billy married Mary Myatt on September 27, 1957.
Other than his wife Mary, he is survived by 4 children: Dr. Steven (Charlotte) Birge, of Tompkinsville, KY, Suzanne (Kenny) Hagan of Bowling Green, KY, Sherri (Shawn) Braswell of Gallatin, TN, B.J. (Jen) Birge of Lexington, KY; 9 grandchildren, Keri Lyons, Kelli Lester, Austin Birge, Bailey Billingsley, Hayden Braswell, Kade Hagan, Claire Braswell, Finley Birge and Maisy Birge; 7 great grandchildren, Lottie, Lane, Boone, Lander, Lola, Bear and Addison Kate.
Billy was a US Army Veteran serving from 1959-1961 at Ft.. Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska, and from 1961-1965 in the National Guard. He worked at Key Work Clothes and Osh Kosh B'Gosh as a computer cutter for many years.
Billy is a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Birge and Cecil Birge, and a sister, Hazel Birge.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 25, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Yokley Trible Funeral Home. Burial to follow at White Cemetery.
Visitation is Sunday, from 2:00-6:00 PM, and Monday, 8:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Billy's memory may be made to Friendship Baptist Church or White Cemetery.
