Betty Marrs (Rich) Tooley, 82, of Tompkinsville, KY, passed away Tuesday, January 17th, at Signature Health Care of Monroe.
Betty was born in Tompkinsville, KY on July 19, 1940, a daughter of the late Mary Alene (Poindexter) and Ray Rich.
On October 24, 1959, she married J.E. Tooley in Celina, TN. J.E. preceded her in death on November 17, 1999.
During Betty's life she worked at sewing factories, cleaning homes for others, as a custodian for Monroe County Board of Education and Tompkinsville Post Office, in the housekeeping department at Monroe County Health and Rehab, and as a homemaker but her most favorite job was quilting for others. Betty has left many quilts behind for her family to remember her by. She was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church.
Betty is survived by her four children, Johnny Tooley, and wife, Tina, Jimmy Tooley, and wife, Tammy, Elaine Irvin, and husband, Tony, and Mark Tooley, and wife, Debbie, all of Tompkinsville, Ky., six grandchildren, John, Jason and Dustin Tooley, Kyle and Derick Irvin, and Tara Dile, two step grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and five step great grandchildren.
Betty is also survived by a brother, Thomas Rich, and wife, Suzie, of Indiana, and sister, Mary Alice Turner, of Glasgow, KY.
Other than her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Ray Rich, Jr., and Kenneth Darrell Rich.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 20th, at Yokley Trible Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Monroe County Memorial Lawn.
Visitation is Thursday, 4-8 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m., at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
