Betty Staples Hammer, 73, of Tompkinsville, KY passed away Monday, March 13th, at Signature Health Care of Monroe County.
Betty was born in Tompkinsville, KY on July 3, 1949, a daughter of the late Dana (Henson) and Lee Pennington.
Betty worked at Dovie's for 21 years. She was also a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother.
She was a member of Rock Valley Church of Christ.
Betty was married to Earl Paul Hammer, who precedes her in death.
Betty is survived by four sons Scott Staples, and wife, Kim, Shannon Staples, and wife, Debra, Brian Staples, all of Tompkinsville, KY and James Dismond, and partner, Shawn Williams, of Hilton Head, SC; ten grandchildren, Matthew, Chad, Taylor, Tanner, Trevor, Byron, Dennis, Rylan, Raelynn and Elliot and two great grandchildren, Levi and Bryer.
Betty is also survived by two brothers, Clurie "Red" Pennington, and wife, Betty and Fred Pennington, both of Tompkinsville, KY.
Other than her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, March 17th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY, with burial to follow at Bailey Cemetery.
Visitation is Thursday, March 16, from 4-8 p.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home, and Friday, after 6:30 a.m. until service time at 12 noon at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
