Agnes Marie (Moore) Thompson, 97, of Tompkinsville, KY passed away Friday, August 20th, at Monroe County Medical Center.
Agnes was born in Monroe County, KY on December 19, 1923, a daughter of the late Mary Melissa Maude (Simmons) and George Moore.
She was a member of Cyclone Church of Christ.
On April 5, 1941, she married Fred Thompson, Sr., who preceded her in death.
Agnes is survived by a granddaughter, Melissa Emberton, and husband, Lane, Tompkinsville, KY; grandson-in-law, Kelvin Cross, of Tompkinsville, KY; five great grandchildren, Kala Bacon (James), Cory Cross (Beth), Cody Cross (Karissa), Ariel Emberton, and Ellie Emberton (Garrett); several great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Rebecca Rich Ray, of Tompkinsville, KY; Ruth Cloniger, of North Carolina and a brother, George Moore, of LaGrange, KY, and many nieces and nephews.
Other than her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her son and daughter-in-law, Fred "Junior" and Margie Thompson; granddaughter, Carla Cross; brother, Waymon Moore; and three sisters, Allene Ray, Evie Rush and Reva Bartley.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 26th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Monroe County Memorial Lawn.
Visitation is Wednesday, 5-8 PM, and Thursday after 8 AM until service time at 11:00 AM at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Agnes' memory may be made to Cyclone Church of Christ or Bailey Cemetery.
