Peggy Carol Cherry, age 71, of Tompkinsville, KY passed away Sunday, November 10, 2019, surrounded by loved ones at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

Peggy was born in Tompkinsville, KY on October 29, 1948, the oldest daughter of the late J.E. Spear and Nelline (Frost) Spear.

She is survived by her daughter, Angela Long (Michael) of Kingston Springs, TN; and two granddaughters, Erica Bradshaw (Jackson “Cole”) and Emily Long.

Peggy is also survived by four brothers - J.E. Spear, Jr. (Glaydelle), Steve Spear, Chris Spear (Tammy), all of Tompkinsville, KY, and Tony Spear (Karen) of Lebanon, TN;  two sisters - Charline Thompson (Albert) and Anita Brummett (Larry) – both of Tompkinsville, KY;  multiple nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Besides her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her son - Dennis Neal Cherry; two brothers – Joe Spear (Eva) of Lamb, KY and Bobby Spear (Donnie Tooley) of Hermitage Springs, TN; and one niece – Sherry Jo Spear.

She is greatly loved and will be greatly missed.  

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at Yokley Trible Funeral Home at 1:00 P.M.

Visitation is Tuesday afternoon from 5:00-8:00 P.M., and Wednesday, 6:00 A.M. until service time.

Burial is in Monroe County Memorial Lawn.

I'm so sorry to hear about Peggy's passing. I loved to go to Jan's yard sale and visiting with Peggy and looking at her Avon books. Prayers for the family.
